Welcome and "Me, Myself and I"

Dear Global Media Narrators and Digital Natives,

welcome to our Fall semester lecture course "Global Media Narratives in the Digital Age" @ Binghamton University in the State of New York!

In this blog, we will be exploring the dynamics of global storytelling and the poetics of global news. Our research focus includes Global Media Studies, Popular Culture, Visual Culture and Sound Studies, as well as Transnational Writing and Narratology.

Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Annemarie Fischer, and I am currently serving as a Doctoral Candidate in Comparative Literature at Binghamton University and as an instructor of the Fall 2010 course "Global Media Narratives in the Digital Age".
I obtained a Master of Arts in Political Science from Binghamton University as well as a Magistra atrium in German Studies, Journalism and Eastern European Sciences from Leipzig University in Germany. At Moscow State University, I studied Journalism and Russian Literature and Philology. I am fluent in English, French and Russian. At the United Nations Headquarters in New York, I performed an internship at the Department of Public Information (DPI).
