Me, MYself, and I

Hey,

I'm Sam - junior cinema major at the moment. From when I could first understand anything I was consuming media, which is kind of a nice way of saying watching a lot of tv (mostly cartoons for a while), and then proudly moving up to comedy central and hbo. Tv, movies and music have basically been my central interests from the beginning, but I want to widen my scope beyond what was built and filtered for me as an American consumer. I want to use this course to understand the world, which it can as much as any other because you can always tell a tremendous about about a person or a country by their media, what they produce to shape views and satisfy their own.

Me Myself and I

Hello everyone. My name is Eric and I am a second semester junior here at Binghamton University. I am a History major with an eye towards law school in the near future. I'm from a small town on Long Island called Rockville centre and went to South Side High School. Interestingly enough my hometown is what gave me my nick name, "Rocky", here at Binghamton.

In terms of interests, I'm a big time sports fan and listen to a wide range of music. My favorite sport is hockey and I'm a huge Islanders fan. I follow the Yankees, Knicks, and Giants very closely as well. In terms of music my interests are all over the place. I've always had a soft spot for hip hop and rock, but since coming to Binghamton I've become very much into house music. My favorite artists include Wiz Khalifa, Hoodie Allen, Mac Miller, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Phoenix, and Miike Snow to name a few.

My interest in taking this class stems from a lot of different things. For starters, my father was a sports writer for the Daily News and Newark Star Ledger. I've grown up around media members all my life and have taken a very keen interest in how media has evolved so quickly over my lifetime. On top of this, modern media has granted me great access to a wide network of information in my interests of sports and music. Blogs, social media, and the Internet are great tools in expanding my horizons in many ways.

By taking this class and participating in this blog I hope to enrich my own capabilities as a writer while expanding my knowledge in terms of what this great tool of digital media has to offer.

Me, Myself, and I

Hey,

My name is Liza Boucher and I am currently a senior. My major is English with a concentration in Global Culture and Rhetoric. I live in Saratoga Springs, NY. Last spring I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and ever since then I have the desire to travel the world (I have been to Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and Amsterdam!)

After graduation I figure I’ll bum around my hometown for a couple months, work and save up some money. Then I’m planning a cross country drive to California (I have lived in San Diego and San Francisco) to visit friends and family. Once I’m done with my adventures in the states I want to go back to Italy and from there travel around Europe.

I enjoy cooking, hanging out, drinking (not alone of course), traveling and generally being awesome. I play volleyball and softball and I can’t wait for this cold weather to be over with!

I am taking this class because I think that Global Media is our future. We need to be able to understand where journalism is heading and how the face of the news and media is constantly changing. We are lucky to be growing up understanding how to use the media and this class will teach us valuable skills so that we don’t get left behind.

Me, Myself, and I

Hello, my name is Christopher Ceglia. I am a senior History major and I intend to continue my studies and work for a Masters and Ph.D. in History. Ideally I would like to spend the next few years of education working towards publication and a University teaching position. I decided to take this class largely due to my personal interest in the changing atmosphere of media and the historically unique situation of media on the internet. As of yet, the internet has provided a freedom of information that is largely unprecedented in modern society.
I have a particular interest in observing the nature of the phenomenon that is the internet, and I closely monitor any perceived attempts at restricting the freedom of information it provides. I was loosely affiliated with some organizations that protested the passage of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). I believe that in the new digital age we have entered there is enormous potential for liberty and freedom of thought and information to be expanded. My interest in ACTA, as well as the American government's targeting of Julian Assange, are part of the reason that I chose to take this course. I hope that I will learn more about the workings of the global media network and the broad number of perspectives that can be brought forth thanks to the technology of our age.

Me, Myself and I

My name is Ashley Grumman. I transferred to Binghamton University this fall. I'm currently undeclared but I am leaning towards majoring in English with a concentration in Rhetoric. I'm was born in NYC where I spent most of my childhood and later grew up in Orange County, New York. My mother is Colombian and my Father is a European mutt. I would say I'm your average nineteen year old trying to figure out life and all it's facets. When I am not studying or partying you usually can find me hanging with my friends or watching Netflix. I have a passion for music, singing, writing, partying and doing whatever I want. Recently, I've had a knack for making playlists on a website called 8tracks. I believe my love for music has evolved through my many years of training and studying opera. Other people may describe me as an over-anylitical sweetheart who is sometimes very loud.

The reason I enrolled in this class is because I already have a strong enthusiasm for writing and blogging. About a year ago, I started my own blog where I post whatever is important to me from pictures and song lyrics to self discoveries and recaps of my day. (http://existinbrilliantcolors.tumblr.com/) I believe that In today's ever evolving technological world, it is becoming an important skill to be able to share information through mediums that parallel our digital word.

Me, Myself, and I

My name is Ross Abler, I'm from Plainview, NY. I am currently a sophomore at Binghamton University and my major is accounting. I am a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. I was born in Bayside (in Queens) and my family moved to Plainview when I was two. I currently live with my mom, dad, and older sister. I'm a huge Yankees and Jets fan.
I decided to take this class because digital media plays such an important role in my life. Through visiting websites to RSS feeds information have become available unlike never before. The emergence of 3G and 4G networks made mobile devices a primary method of receiving information. The closer we come to technological singularity the more we will rely on digital media. Learning the workings of digital media is essential for the future.

Me Myself and I

Hello class, my name is Tova Raab. I am a first semester senior majoring in Sociocultural Anthropology and minoring in Hebrew language. I was born in Dallas, Texas but unfortunately grew up in South Jersey. I come from a large family including three older brothers and a younger sister. My father works in apartment management and my mother is a preschool teacher at the local Jewish day school. I have two living grandparents on my father's side, originally from Poland. During WWII, my grandfather fled to Russia with the communists while my grandmother was shipped away to Sobibor death camp. They are my survivors. Therefore, I probably identify most with my Polish heritage although I am also German, Dutch, Swedish, and Irish.

My interests include art, music, reading, museums and traveling. I have been to Poland, Holland, England, Israel, Mexico, and the Bahamas. Freshman year, I studied abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Currently, I am living on the west side of Binghamton with two roommates and a cat named Emperor Marmoset.

I decided to enroll in this course for a number of reasons. First, being a sociocultural anthropology major, I believe media narratives have become a popular method of globally disseminating perspectives on modern culture. Additionally, last semester I took a course on the economics of the underworld and globalization. For my final research paper, I studied the illicit flows of kidney trafficking to Israel. I quickly became fascinated with the different agents in transport tourism especially the middlemen, brokers. After reviewing personal reports, I discovered the brokers communicated primarily through the internet so as to limit contact with unsatisfied customers or undercover cops. Without the use of email or online advertisements, kidney trafficking could not have become such a profitable business. The internet is a powerful tool that is often underestimated by our generation. Hopefully, this course will add further insight into the topic.

Me, Myself, and I

Hello.
My name is Johnny, and I am currently a sophomore. I am an English major, looking to pursue a career in English education.
I come from Putnam Valley, which is about an hour north of New York City. I’m a big sports fan, and the Yankees are my favorite team. I like watching old cartoons, as well as playing the piano.
I’m taking this class because it seemed different from other classes I’ve taken in the past. I’ve always been interested in journalism and the media, and how language affects the way we live. I don’t have a lot of experiences with blogging, and this class is a great opportunity for me to learn more about them. The Internet is such a great way to learn and communicate, and I am really excited to see how this class goes.

Me, Myself, and I

My name is Jonathan Yarmeisch. I am from Old Bethpage, New York (Long Island). I am currently a sophomore at Binghamton and major in accounting. I am also a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. I've lived in Old Bethpage my whole life with my parents, brother, and dog. I'm a big Yankees fan and Knicks fan, although the latter has been a bit of a struggle until late. I love watching football but for some reason I never really had a team that I considered myself a huge fan of. I also enjoy watching movies, as I am sure most people do.
I decided to take this class because I know how much the media and new technologies affect my life on a daily basis and I am interested in learning more about how these same media outlets affect others lives on a global level. I find that I don't make the time to open a newspaper or watch the news on TV but now I can compensate by following CNN on twitter and get the breaking news for the day straight to my phone. It is hard to not find such accessible information fascinating.

Me, Myself & I

Hey everyone,

It’s always interesting reading the introductions of others, but when it’s time for my own, I often hit a wall. Safe to say, I’ve always found it awkward introducing myself but here it is.

I’m Nicolette Battad, freshman and prospective mechanical engineer from Queens, NYC. I believe this is my way into meshing innovation with creativity as I get along well with formulas just as much as with a paintbrush. When I do have free time and as a food junkie, I usually find myself scouring for the next best place to eat in the city (I guess for now the dining hall is most convenient). Other than that, I sketch, I read, I play guitar.

For this semester, I’m basically allowed one GenEd class and I feel this would be a good balance to my schedule as well as stepping out of my academic comfort zone – there’s no solving for “x” or calculating initial velocity. As far as blogging, I’ve found myself drawn to those on the more artistic level - fashion blogs and those of art students showcasing their work. Hopefully, with the focus being on current events, this class will help me keep up to date as well as become more “worldly”, in general.

About Me

Hey everyone, my name is Bryce Gadye. Im a freshman here at Bing. My anticipated major is history. Im not sure what I want to do with it - teach, law school, research, etc, but I know I have a huge interest in it. Im from Millburn, Nj, which is about 20 mins from NYC. I reside at Endicott in Newing community, and hope to get an apartment or live in the new Newing buildings next year. I decided to take this course because media is something I enjoy to study, particularly I want to become more knowledge about our modern digital and globalized world. My hobbies include basketball, the jets :(, biking, chess, movies, and writing. I look forward to having a great semester!

Me, Myself and I

Hello everyone. My name is Kaitlyn Bendlin and I am a senior in my last semester here at Binghamton! I'm a double degree student in the anthropology and human development programs. My plan for after Binghamton is to go for my masters in speech pathology, but first I need to do a year of necessary prerequisite work so I decided that I’m going to move out to Portland, Oregon for a year to experience a new place while I take the classes I need to apply to grad school. I’m excited to see what the other side of the country is like. I’ve heard it’s beautiful and quite different than life on the East coast!

When I’m not doing school work I work as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. When I’m not working I love listening to and seeking out new musicians (Pandora is usually playing on my computer), watching movies (especially independent films and documentaries), writing, playing basketball and doing anything outdoors. I’m going skydiving in May in celebration of graduating and I can’t wait! I have a new found love of running and I’m actually in the beginning stages of training for a half marathon in May. Because of my training I’ve also picked up healthy cooking and baking, which, by the way, is actually pretty delicious.

I’m taking this class because it compliments my other course work really well and because it’s so relative to our generation. If we're living it, we might as well be studying it too.I think this is going to be a great class and I’m looking forward to reading the blogs. I hope everyone has an overall awesome semester!

"Me, Myself and I"

Hello everyone, my name is Brian and I am currently in my junior year here at Binghamton University. I was born in Long Island, but have lived the majority of my life in the Binghamton area. I am majoring in English and plan to attend graduate school after my studies at Binghamton are complete. I am a huge sports fan, with my favorite sport being basketball. My favorite team is the New York Knicks. I am also a big football and baseball fan and in addition to sports, enjoy listening to music and traveling. I am taking this course because I am interested in the various media networks and would like to gain a broader knowledge on how the global media network functions. I am looking forward to learning a great deal on the various media mechanisms that exist around the world through this class.

Me, Myself, and I

Hi class, my name is Jason Brandt but I usually just go by “Jay”. I am from Marlboro, New Jersey and I live with both of my parents, two younger brothers, and my poodle Brandy. Currently, I am a second-semester senior at Binghamton and an Economics major. I am a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity and I live downtown with 28 of my fraternity brothers. Hopefully, I will be attending graduate school in the fall to get my MBA. I am interested in learning how to start and develop a business. Last semester, I was the winning team of S.O.M.’s Botnick Entrepreneurship Competition and we won $2,500 to start our business. My team’s idea is a website that allows students and job seekers to post their resumes and receive feedback from peers who have already obtained jobs in the same industry. The name is WiseResume.com and it should be fully up and running by March.

Some of my hobbies include playing baseball, basketball, and Xbox, watching movies, hanging with my friends, and relaxing. I love great pizza, cheeseburgers, the Mets, the Knicks, and Jets. I enjoy reading many different kinds of blogs, from new technology to sports to current trends. I am a big user of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In. I hope to gain new writing skills and learn more about the various means of communication from this class.

Me, Myself and I

Hello! My name is Kristen Scopino and I’m a sophomore here at Binghamton University. I am majoring in integrative neuroscience (formerly and less pretentiously psychobiology) with the hopes of eventually going into medical research. I am particularly interested in the connection between the brain and behavior, and how this manifests to create the society we see around us. I’m hoping that this class will give me some insight into interpersonal relationships in the age of technology.

I actually live in Connecticut, from a small town with an equal amount of cows and people. Living out in the middle of nowhere has given me a great deal of appreciation for nature and I love any sports that can be done outdoors, like swimming and hiking. I also do a lot of reading, especially of classics and books on quantum physics, and writing; my personality definitely walks that line between new age and old school.

I look forward to getting to know the rest of you over the course of the semester!

Me, Myself, and I

Hello everybody, my name is Grigoriy Malyutin and I am a sophomore at Binghamton University. Everyone calls me Greg. I am a Chemistry Major and plan on going to medical school after I graduate. I was born in Russia but due to my family immigrating to Brooklyn, New York when I was 4 years old, I do not remember much of Russia. However, I did visit a few times since then and when people ask "how is it?," I reply "different." This is not to brush anyone off, but it is completely dissimilar.

I like to take classes that are outside of the core curriculum and as it turns out, Global Media interactions interest me. One of my daily routines is reading the news on Yahoo! and going through Digg stories to see what is interesting in the world that isn't headlined on major newspapers. I hope to incorporate my knowledge of Russian to develop a more global view on events and how media interacts around the globe. I am also very pro-internet neutrality and because of this I have an issue with the "Great Firewall of China," and Iran's increasing infringement on human rights. In fact, just 30 minutes ago, I was reading an article that described Iran announcing how it will start an internet cyber force that will police citizen's internet viewing activities.

Last but definitely not least, I am looking forward to getting to know my fellow students and hope to have fun while learning about media interactions!

Me, Myself and I

Hi, my name is Erica. I am an English major and a junior at Binghamton University. I’m from New Jersey but nowhere near the Jersey Shore. I enjoy reading, traveling, and watching movies. During the summer I love to go to the beach and go to Mets games with my family. During the winter I enjoy going into the city to see Broadway shows. I am also a Jets fan and enjoy watching football. However, my passion is for fashion. I have worked at multiple fashion companies, and this past summer I worked for a fashion website called Afingo where I wrote daily blogs on future trends, designers, or upcoming fashion events. I read fashion blogs and fashion magazines all the time. I think this class will be very interesting and I am excited to write more blogs!

Me, Myself, and I

Hey Guys,

My name is Maggie and unlike most of you upperclassmen, I’m a freshman at Binghamton this year. I decided to take this class because a lot of my interests lie in the media field whether it be magazines, photography or stumbling on the internet for way too many hours at a time. I’m from New Jersey (big surprise right?) and luckily I live twenty minutes away from NYC which is one of my favorite places in the world. I go to a lot of concerts and I love almost all music; no Ke$ha or Taylor Swift though… The best show I’ve been to was Ultra which is a two day long music festival in Miami. I love the snow and skiing, but I could definitely use some Miami sun right about now! I joined WHRW which is Binghamton’s radio station so for an hour and a half every week I get to play some really good music.

I plan to study abroad atsome point in the next few years and I’d love to go all over Europe and Tibet. I wish I could speak more languages but I have a couple years to get that down before I travel out of the country. I think this class will expose me to a lot of new information about communication and media that I didn’t know before which will be very useful because I may want to make a career either out of Media Studies or Journalism. Alright, feel like I’m talking way too much about myself right now so I’m going to go read some of your blog posts!

Here's a few pictures from some shows I've been to:

A little bit about me.

Hello everyone!
My name is Ruth Lopez. I was born in Puerto Rico, but have lived for the majority of my life in New York, and now find myself in Binghamton. At the moment, I am a sophomore and an English/Rhetoric and Global Cultures major, minoring in Global Studies, Political Science, and possibly Italian. Also, I am the Treasurer of the new undergraduate chapter of a graduate student organization, the Indigenous Student Association and a Binghamton University Student Ambassador. :) Aside from academics, I am very interested in social activism, and community organizing. I have participated in anti-war, school budget-cuts, immigration rights, and human rights protests. Painting, learning Italian, writing poetry, and amateur photography are a big part of my life when I have free time. I haven't really had the opportunity to travel very much, but I am planning to study abroad in Turkey next summer, and am considering joining the Peace Corps for some time after graduating. I want to see as much of the world we live as I possibly can before settling into a stable career.

This course I know will be quite interesting, it's going to put many aspects of the world as I know it, as we all know it, through the media into close perspective. It's always pretty exciting when one becomes more globally aware.

Me, Myself & I

Hello, my name is Junaid Nomani and I'm a senior at binghamton. First with the basics, I'm a biology major about to graduate, but I'm probably going to stay another 2 years or so and get a computer science degree as well.
I choose this class for a gen ed because I'm an avid user of various internet communication sites such as reddit. I also think communication in general is one of the most important skills to have in any job. I also write short stories so the "narrative" part of the course is also interesting to me and may affect the way I write.
One of my biggest interests is brazilian jujitsu. Its probably one of the most physically demanding sports out there (its similar to wrestling) as well as one of the most complicated and mentally challenging; its often referred to as "chess with your body".

Hello everyone!

My name is Danilo and I'm a Senior Political Science Major at Binghamton University. I am currently applying to Law schools and plan on pursuing a career in entertainment and copyright law. I am very well versed in technology and the internet and am taking this class because I realize the importance of the internet and the "digital age" in the realm of copyrights. I am focused mainly on these questions: All these blog posts, video files, mp3s, and pictures that we post on the internet - who's information is it really? How do you define "digital" information? Where does the line blur between digital information and intangible information? These are all things that I plan on explore in my studies at law school, and I believe this class will help me get a better idea of the internet frontier, beyond what I currently know.

A little about me: I was borned in the former-Yugoslavia, which is Serbia now. My father is from Serbia, and is mother from Croatia - two countries that had been war torn for years. Luckily, unlike the countries themselves, my parents managed to stay married for all these years. We moved to the United States (Queens, NY) when I was 6 years old. I speak Serbian fluently with my parents, as well as having learned Spanish by living in Spain for a while.

In my free time, I am normally listening to music, reading the news, or DJing. I have been DJing for over 5 years now and have owned and operated my own production company. Now in Binghamton, I spend me nights DJing at the Rathskeller Bar&Grill (downtown State St.) and other nightclubs and venues. I plan on continuing my DJ career when I move back to New York City to go to law school next semester.

I have interned at the NYC DA's Office for Digital Money Laundering, the Broome County Public Defender's Office, General Motors Asset Management, and most recently I am doing a private internship with a lawyer that does credit and immigration law.

Shameless self promotion:
I posted a picture of my DJ logo - DJ DECIBEL
and some of my mixtapes can be downloaded here for free:

Me Myself and I

Hello, my name is Alex Trotta, I'm usually just called by my last name, I'm in my second year at Binghamton and I'm studying English with a concentration in Rhetoric. I plan on graduating next spring to work and intern as a sports writer and gain experience outside of the classroom. My dream job would be working for ESPN or the NFL. This course fills a requirement for my major, but I'm interested to see the application of theory and globalization (which were required classes which I've taken) to the digital age.

I'm from Long Island, and one of my biggest interests is sports, mostly football, basketball and rugby, hence my future plans. I am a Jets and Knicks fan. I love playing fantasy football, and talking football with people since it's a topic understand very well. I also play rugby for Binghamton, and represent the club as a head of recruitment. Rugby's been a big part of my college life since joining in my first semester. It's the main thing I bring up in conversation because Americans aren't usually very familiar with the sport. I'm looking forward to the first practice of the spring season on Wednesday, and an interesting and challenging class this semester.

About Me

My name is Irene Bunnell and I am a Junior at Binghamton University. I am an English and Comparative Literature double major. I am also minoring in Italian and Global Studies. I am from Port Chester which is in Westchester County. I was born in California, my parents are from Chicago and my Dad lives in Texas, so we have the edges of the country covered.
I am a big sports fan, and I follow Chicago teams except for baseball, where I am a huge Mets fan. I, however, am not very athletic.
I am interested in this class because of my global studies minor. I spent a month of last summer in Italy, and I met a lot of international students, and it has made me more globally aware. I am interested in classes that will help me learn more about the world.

Me, Myself & I

Hey everyone,
My name is Leo Seth Grossman (I go by Seth) and I'm a senior double majoring in math and anthro. I grew up in South Florida and just moved out to the Bay Area (in California) about two years ago. The reason I'm here instead of "sunny Florida" (as you New Yorkers love to point out) is because I wanted to experience living somewhere else and Binghamton's the best value for out-of-state anywhere in the country. I have no clue what I'll be doing after I graduate in May, but I do know I'll be going on a badass road trip from here to wherever I end up. I'm excited for this class and for my last semester here!

Me, myself, and I

Hey everyone,
My name is Georgia Tsamasiros. I am an undecided freshman here at Binghamton University. I am a Brooklyn girl. I have two sisters, one older and one younger; I am part of a large Greek family. We travel to Greece every summer, some of my closest friends are family members from the farthest branches of my family tree.
I recently learned how to play Call Of Duty, and I am absolutely obsessed; sadly my PlayStation 3 broke the moment I got up to school and I am anticipating its return from Sony.
Not quite sure what else there is to know about me, I am a social person and I enjoy having tons of fun.
I am taking this class because I am interested in learning about the different forms of communication. I look forward to blogging, as this is my first time doing so.
Yes.. so that is pretty much the most I can think to write about. See you all in class.

Me, Myself, and I

Hello! My name is Samantha Nobel and I'm a freshman transfer student here at Binghamton. I'm from northern New Jersey and I transferred from Montclair State University. I have a passion for nutrition as well as running and exercise. With this passion, I decided to declare my major in Nutrition with a concentration it dietetics. After a very difficult first semester, i've realized that although I love nutrition and health, it may not be the right choice for my career path.
I've decided to take this semester at Binghamton to discover new passions that may be lurking inside. I found this class interesting because I like communications and I've realized that recently technology has really impacted the way we all communicate. I am also taking classes like Anthropology, Psychology, and Writing to further discover what i may want to pursue. I think this class will be very interesting and enjoyable and i'm excited for this spring semester!

Hello all!
My name is Jessica Marie Lucas and I am currently a sophmore here at BU. I will be majoring in English and might minor in sociology. I was born in the Bronx, New York but my heart is in the Dominican Republic, which is where my family is from.
Many people consider me an "Old Soul" and to be quite honest I agree. I have always thought that I should have been born in a different era.
I enjoy all different kinds of music... well not all but I do give them all a try. I enjoy dancing very much, I have taken ballet for 3 years, I have been on the ballroom team here at Binghamton and I am coordinator and dancer for Quimbamba, which is the dance group for Latin American Student Union.
I am the Historian for the Latin American Student Union. I try to get myself involved in as many things as I can get my hands on. Usually I have to cut down since I can only balance so much.
I make a lot of plans... and I try to schedule my days so I can get as much done effectively.

I look forward to graduation so I can travel the world and go on exotic vacations.
I hope to one day become Editor in Chief of a magazine.

I am interested to learn about global media, and I also need the class for the credit. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

This is just a part of me. Family, is everything to me. The possibilities are unlimited !

Me Myself and I

Hello to all students of Global Media,

My name is Nicholas Esposito and I am a junior at BU. Everyone can call me Espo or Nick which ever you would prefer; I am taking Global Media just in pure interest to myself since I am currently an Economics major but the use of media in sports has been an interest of mine for some time. After my graduation my plan is to enter into the Navy officer candidate school and hopefully, eye sight staying at a 20/20, hopefully become a Navy pilot. Then my plan is to travel with the little money that I would make and then enter law school after that.

My interests outside of the class room are a far range of sports, from Rugby to Golf. I am from Long Island and the part where I am from is near the water right across from a golf course so playing every day by sneaking on to the course late might be one of my favorite past times. I am currently a member of the schools D1 Rugby club. The club itself has become a large portion of my life while at school because of the friends and fact that Rugby might be one of the craziest sports I have ever seen, let alone have played. I am looking forward to the rest of this year and hopefully we will all get to learn something that will stick with us because despite of the academic learning we do at college, its the things we learn outside of that realm that make us truly learn.

Hello everybody, my name is Michael Crudele. First of all, I would like to interject I am excited to get to know everyone in the class and am eager to learn about global media. I am a freshman who took this course mostly for the credit with a slight interest in communication. After the first week I realized many students in the class are upperclassmen, which indicates to me this will not be an easy-breezy general education class, but I am up for the challenge. At Binghamton, I am in the School of Management currently labeled "Undecided Business", in other words, a clueless freshman. I have broad intentions for this class as I keep an open mind looking for anything that will ignite passion.
A little bit about myself. My name is Michael, but feel free to call me Mike; I am good at a lot of things, but very good at very few; in childhood I considered myself athletic, but now I consider myself motly academic. I have a big heart and look for love everywhere. One part of the female anatomy that attracts me most is the brain because without a good mind everything else is insignificant. Optimism will open doors, while pessimism will lock them. I like to refer to Aesop's fables when faced with a moral predicament. I believe one grows through experience. And finally, I like to party!

Hello, my name is Benjamin Zupnick, and my hometown is New Rochelle, NY. I am a senior economics major here at SUNY Binghamton. I originally enrolled at the University of Delaware and transferred after my freshman year. I have also studied abroad in Barcelona. My favorite sports teams are the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and FC Barcelona. After graduation this spring, I plan on going to grad school to get my Masters in Economics somewhere in the metropolitan New York area.

My interests include sports, going to the gym, watching funny shows / cartoons on TV, movies, political satire (like John Stewart for example), going to the movies, and hanging out with friends. I like to believe I am pretty open minded and have valuable insight on many complex issues, so this blog should be a good opportunity to get other peoples feedback on my ideas.

I look forward to getting to know all of you this semester.

At Binghamton, I am in the School of Management currently labeled as "Undecided Business", in other words, a clueless freshman. I have broad intentions for this class as I keep an open mind looking for anything that will ignite passion.
A little bit about myself. My name is Michael, but feel free to call me Mike; I am good at a lot of things, but very good at very few; in childhood I considered myself athletic, but now I feel mostly academic. I have a big heart and look for love everywhere. One part of the female anatomy that attracts me most is the brain because without a good mind everything else is insignificant. Optimism will open all doors, while pessimism will lock them. I like to refer to Aesop's fables when faced with a predicament. I believe one grows through experience. And finally, I like to party!
