Me, Myself, and I

Hello everyone,

My name is Liz and I am a junior at Binghamton University. I live in Queens, NY and went to the High School of American Studies in the Bronx. I identify as Russian Jewish even though I am a quarter French. On campus I’m involved Alpha Phi Omega and the Student Association. When I’m home I work at the Queens Board of Elections.

I am currently working on my individualized major American Politics and the Media, which is a focused blend of Political Science, English, and Cinema courses. I am fascinated by media studies, especially how cyberspace is changing not only the way we communicate but the way we think about ourselves and the world (there are no online national borders). I would like to go to law school to become an internet policy lawyer/lobbyist and defend policies such as net neutrality and reform digital copyright law.

I am obsessed with pop culture. I watch way too much TV from one-hour dramas like Mad Men, NCIS, and True Blood to half-hour comedies like The Daily Show, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Community, and Parks & Recreation. I love movies, especially old Hollywood and film noir. I like to write and my favorite authors are Haruki Murakami and Oscar Wilde. I don’t have a favorite blog but some cool online comics are xkcd, Toothpaste for Dinner, and A Softer World and the Youtube vlog communitychannel is hilarious (I love the girl's Australian accent). Despite my law school plan, my dream job is to be a documentary or Hollywood filmmaker and writer. After college, I want to take a year off to study or work abroad in Europe or even South Korea.

I think I like to talk about myself a little too much… but I am also interested to read about everyone else!
