YouTube, along with wiki leaks, seems the place where journalism gets attention in cyber space.
In Japan, cyber journalism got more attention than ever before when the video of Chinese ship crashing into Japanese ship in the sea around Senkaku Islands was posted on YouTube. The video was kept by government and supposed not to be open due to the territorial dispute between China and Japan where the event happened.
Seeing the confusion of public opinion about this news, a government officer whose username is "sengoku38" posted the video on the YouTube. It is said that he first sent the video to Japanese branch of CNN but the video was not distributed, and this is why he decide to post video on YouTube.
He was then arrested due to the Japanese law on the national government employee, and later retired from his occupation, while the captain of the Chinese ship was released under a "false accusation." The cyber journalism, in this case, seems to give a great impact on Japanese media.
