The Social Network examines the journey taken by a smart college undergraduate who created Facebook. The movie interestingly moves from the background story to the court cases he had faced.
This movie absolutely blew my mind. The thought process going into Facebook, the fact that everyone is interested in the lives of the other people that they know aided with the vast internet enables people to creep into the lives of mere acquaintances or strangers whom they are interested in.
The idea that Facebook is never done, always changing struck me as interesting. Facebook is indeed always changing its layout or what it has to offer whoever uses it, which is only expected to keep up with the ever changing world.
Mark Zuckerberg did what most Americans do; he took someone's idea and made it better. Everyone comes up with amazing ideas daily, yet not many people actually go and do it.
One thing I have thought about is the idea of a dislike button and why Facebook never added one... I would like to assume that it has something to do with the FaceSmash he created, where you could pick between two photographs of females of which one is more preferable. Perhaps a dislike button would cause too much chaos and too many hurt feelings? This was just an idea I had while watching the film.
