Globalization is the idea when the individual aspects of countries start to become integrated, and they start to be more united across the globe.Globalization is actually based on buying from and selling to each other. However, it has more function then it means. It includes lots of ideas such as the pursuit of classical liberal (or “free market”) policies in the world economy (“economic liberalization”), the growing dominance of western (or even American) forms of political, economic, and cultural life (“westernization” or “Americanization”), new information technologies (“Internet Revolution”). Globalization should be understood as a multi-pronged process it works in different areas of society being the economy, the political structure, and the culture.
Information poverty is when a country doesn't have access to a lot of information, For instance the poor and developing countries where people are offline more than online. How do they benefit from the power of information?or do they? For example, Kenya is one of country which is financially poor but they also don't have information, which affects their financial situation. it's like a "snowball" one thing leads to another which leads to another. In Kenya because of the economic poverty they have information poverty which leads to more economic poverty it's hard to get out of one without the other. The basic idea is that the information poverty leads to the economic poverty or at least contributes to it. People even have less access to the information that impacts their daily life, such as data on water quality, education and health budgets, and agricultural prices are nearly impossible to access, so information poverty appear when the countries dont have power to be globalize by exchanging some kind of assests, news, organizations, people, and money.

You stated: “The basic idea is that the information poverty leads to the economic poverty or at least contributes to it” and I agree completely. This snow ball effect you mention is why it is so important for fortunate nations to help build up impoverished ones. It is similar to when someone is sick. Its harder for them to get food, adequate home supplies and many other things while they are sick, and if they were left alone they would worsen because of the lack of these necessities. However, if a healthy person were to help someone sick, they could fight the disease and eventually become healthy as well. Similarly, if we leave impoverished nations on their own they will become weaker and weaker in respect to more powerful nations and the gap will simply increase as they are left out of the information hub of the internet. Even the chairman of AOL-Time Warner, Steve Case, has pleaded that people are simply being left behind. [1]
