Globalization & Information Poverty

Globalization is the idea that every nation in the world is becoming part of a global community. With the advent of the internet, access to people thousands of miles away from you isn’t even a question anymore. The only major flaw to our new globalized world is that there are still places that are in the dark and not connected to the rest of the planet. Developed countries like Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom are the most well-connected countries on the planet, while the developing nations of Poland, Turkey, and Mexico aren’t as connected with the rest of the world (Norris, 2). This phenomenon is known as information poverty.

  1. I agree that information poverty is a "major flaw to our new globalized world" , but I do not think that it is the "only" set back to globalization. Besides information poverty, globalization brings the absence of personal relationships, bootlegging, and even the loss of local jobs. Though outsourcing can be viewed both as a positive for some, and a negative for others, it can be directly linked to globalization as well.
