What Is Globalization?

Globalization is connecting, culture, Internet, and business. In today’s society Internet is one of the most popular forms of connection and globalization. Globalization transfers information’s from one society to another. As Norris states, the internet could broaden and enhance access to information and communication in developing nations because it offers a relatively cheap and efficient service. (1). One of the perks of globalization and the Internet is that it enables countries that are not as wealthy as other countries to experience the same leisure’s. Small businesses in South Africa and Mexico can sell their products directly to customers in New York, irrespective of the traditional barriers of distance, the costs of advertising, and the intermediate distribution chains. (Norris 1). Unfortunately a lot of counties aren’t as lucky as we are. There is an information gap between the top countries and third-world countries. Internet have failed to reach most of the poorer nations in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. The gap between the information between rich and poor countries has sharply increased in the emergent years of this new technology. (Norris 1). Due to the information gap globalization cannot reach its full achievements.

  1. I agree that the internet plays an important role in globalization. Like you repeated from Noris's article, the internet helps developing nations gain access to information and communication and helps them experience the same luxuries as more fortunate countries. The spread of the internet can help the information gap decrease and hopefully put the majority of countries on a level playing field in terms of access to communication and information.

  3. I might be wrong but I believe that globalization is a result of transfer of information and not the other way around. Globalization is basically a noun which defines mass exchange of information and items.
