Citizen Journalism

Citizen journalism is an important contribution to global media. Citizen journalism is also known as amateur journalism. The reason why it is an important contribution to the world is because some events occur at random. Thus by the time the news reporter gets to the scene a lot of information may already be lost. Therefore if someone else were at the scene of the event they are able to know the event in more detail. Also sometimes news portrayed or seen in a different perspective provides an alternative view. The other advantage of citizen journalism is that when they post videos or blogs on social websites they make the world more aware of the news than before.
Although citizen journalism can contribute a lot it has its downfalls. As good as a different perspective is provided it can also be misleading. Thus it is important that we get many perspectives of the event that occurred.
