This is a relatively new blog that came out during the summer. Its contributors are different philosophy professors from prestigious philosophy departments all over the country. As a philosophy major, I am often told by people that philosophy seems to them to be a "lost art", and the fact that I usually only get to read about it in the classroom and talk about it with fellow majors, makes me feel that maybe this is true. But The NY TIMES has thankfully proven that philosophy is not a lost art but instead that it is extremely relevant to contemporary events, as is evident in a contribution entitled "Hegel on Wall Street". It also makes philosophy accessible outside of the academy. The 600 comments that can be found on some articles proves that there is in fact an interest and necessary function of philosophy.

This is a great blog because the blogger provides great theoretical (i.e.pyschoanalysis, post-strucuturalist) analyses of contemporary art ranging from installation pieces to avant-garde cinema, bringing together two of my primary interests. Although it is often the case that I do not get to see most of the work (given location or monetary limitations), it makes me feel that I am connected to the contemporary art scene.

This blog is my primary source for new music. It gives great reviews of new albums and I have really come to trust their taste. They provide links to the mp3 downloads and sometimes even upload mixtapes. Its an integral part of my life.
