Communication

One of the important keys to the consistent evolution of mankind is communication, and the ability to do so efficiently, quickly, and accurately. To understand this, one must understand the idea of ‘communication’ and how it works. The very basic aspect can be seen as a sender, relaying message, and a receiver, receiving the message transmitted from the sender. Of course, by using one medium, whether it be oral, written, visual, etc; it becomes very hard to transmit and have it understood perfectly by the receiver. There are many variables that come into play, and sometimes messages are misunderstood, or in other words, there becomes a ‘miscommunication’.

Another factor within this is who is communicating. With the media and the internet, communication has spread to different levels, all with different reasons of communicating, whether it is to share knowledge, understand other individuals, push products, produce different ways of living, etc. Then, one must ask who is receiving these messages and if it is directed towards them. Since the mass flow of information due to the internet, it becomes very hard to see a direct link between sender and receiver. None the less, because communication is such a powerful tool, many use it, and in many cases, a skewed reality occurs from it, for the truth is not always shown. [1]

  1. Also as communication becomes mass communication and exists in a larger scale the possibility of miscommunication also increases due to the increase in variables that are involved.
