Oxford Music Online is the gateway offering users the ability to access and cross-search multiple music reference resources in one location. [1]Oxford Music Online is an excellent database for research of wide variety of topics in music. Most people who study or have studied the history of western music or have done some kind of a music related research project know about Grove Music Dictionaries, Grove Music Online, or the most up to date online source of music knowledge Oxford Music Online. There are many conveniences that Oxford Music Online has to offer. An option to search by source lets a user chose the most convenient database filtering the contents of the search results. Advanced search option lets a user even further define exactly what information they are looking for to get the most accurate results. There is a wonderful FAQ section that is very handy for the first time user. Another great section for a newbie is User Tips which helps learn about how to use the database to get the best out of it. The articles I found while doing several of my research papers were always reliable, extensive, and very informative. I would recommend this source to anyone who enjoys learning about music.
