Evaluating a Web Source

The Digital Library in Germany: Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek

The provider of the website is the German National Library (die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek.) The website is a work in progress; it will provide access to digital knowledge (digitalem Wissen) and the culture in Germany. FIZ Karlsruhe is the technical operator of the German Digital Library. The website will open a vast amount of opportunities for fresh and future-oriented use of digital media. It also sets the bar for the foundation of knowledge and information in the Federal Republic. The objectives of the German portal are to give central access to information from over 30,000 cultural and scientific institutions. The database will be used by everyone who has access to it.
