"The Social Network"
“The Social Network” was a superb film. The writing, acting, and sound track all came together to build a tense and exciting atmosphere. Although the film was heavily dialogue driven I was enthralled the whole time. After the film had ended it really stuck with me, I couldn’t stop thinking about for the next few days. I came out of the theater never wanting to go on facebook.com again. Of course that did not last more than an hour, but the movie really affected me. It was funny seeing the characters talking about facebook.com and using it the same way I do with my friends. One part that I found hilarious but also sad was when one of the character’s girlfriends started a fight because his relationship status said he was single on facebook. I have had an argument like this before, and would also be very hurt to see my girlfriend’s facebook status as “single”. Facebook.com has seriously become a part of my life and “The Social Network”, shows this. I also felt at times that Mark Zuckerberg’s obsession with facebook.com was a metaphor for everyone’s obsession with it. I go on facebook an uncountable amount of times a day and it felt weird seeing that the makers of it knew it would be like this. Also it was very interesting to watch the start of something that is so huge now in the world. Overall one of the best films of the year, and I’m very impressed that it kept me enthralled through out, with no real action.
