My own interpretation of Globalization is how the world is becoming more connected through different mediums. Dictionary.com's definition is to extend to other or all parts of the globe; make worldwide. Which is basically what I feel it is. The world is becoming completely globalized with information and products. One can get McDonalds in Vietnam, or a mac computer in India. The world is becoming one, instead of lots of different isolated countries. Now with the emergence of internet, globalization is happening at staggering speeds. Now people can order products from all over the globe from their computer. Can read up on news in different countries. And can chat with anyone who has the internet.
Information poverty stems from regular poverty. It's when people don't have the resources to information others do. Most people that are informationally poor are just are regularly poor also. They don't have the resources for anything let alone a computer for internet. Also places that don't have newspapers and TV have information poverty.
I don't think internet is a basic human right, it's still a product one must buy. And shouldn't be given away for free. TV isn't a basic human right, and they are just as useful.
