Communication

The main function of communication is sending or receiving information. Other functions are based on it to develop. Humans beings have experienced four ways of communication. The first is primitive ways like gestures and fires. Then it towards to hand-writing and printing. Nowadays, the most popular means is electronic communication.

As the development that the electronics resources popularize, printing industry faces the big challenge. Will the Internet, Broadcasting and TV program replace the newspaper and books? At this moment, this assumption probably could not achieve. Electronic resources break through the limitation of space and time. What's more, they spread broadly in an amazing speed. However, printing is the carrier of words. It can be reserved for a long time and easy to be referenced. The Vanity Fair uses a rhetorical question to answer the question about the magazines' future. "Will the internet kill magazines? Did instant coffee kill the coffee?." Electronic media is a fast form on communication but it can combine with printing. A lot of traditional newspaper and magazines like U.S News and New Yorker have already post online readings. People can choose either printing or online form to get information. Communication becomes more flexible.

It is difficult to image what life will be like without mass communication. Communication is the carrier of culture. People can share the common wisdom of humanity by using it. Besides, mass communication plays a supervisory role in a certain extent to today's society. Mass communication has important influence on people's daily life. It makes the life more realistic. It is the connection between two persons and the bridge to the whole world.
