Hello everyone,
My name is Michelle Yoffee and I'm a transfer student from Canandaigua, New York pursuing a degree in Accounting with a concentration in Global Management. My previous degree from Finger Lakes Community College is in Tourism Management, a reflection of my interest in globl culture and exploration. I interned for several months in a destination marketing organization and enjoy encouraging others to see new places. It is important to me to see and experience the cultures of the world. I lived in Israel for 3 months and it made me more aware of how skewed mass media is in their portrayal of events. I hope to study abroad in the spring semester. Global media is important to me because it allows me to stay aware of what is happening around the world.
Aside from academics, I spend my time horseback riding and running and I will be a memeber of the equestrian team and running club this semester. I love to try new things and I'll do anything once.
I concentrate on business and reality - how things are. I'm not a creative writer, and have little writing experience. I think this class presents a great opportunity to learn from everyone here and improve my communication and writing skills while also learning about digital media.
