Society revolves around the act of communicating. Communication is the entire realm of human interaction. It’s President Obama’s speeches, it’s the “hi, how are you?” on your morning coffee run, it’s the evening weather report. Communication provides us with the information and exchange of facts that are necessary to live from day to day, week to week, month to month. Communication is knowledge, understanding, providing.
According to Hardt, "Mass communication is a primary force in the determination of society" (Hardt 1). Our societal lives are determined by communication in every which way. It informs us of the lives that we live. With the expanding variety of technology, communication is easier and more prominent than ever. By the means of internet, television, blogging, and even translating languages, the world is intertwined. Language translations are available absolutely anywhere, expanding the horizons of communication even further.
When looked at in retrospect, communication is the basis of everything. All we know is communicated at some point. We live through words, thoughts and insights. Communication is a universal social network. It's what we live by.
